Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research is a prestigious joint venture of Government of Nagaland, Christian Medical College, Vellore and Emmanuel Hospital Association, New Delhi, to set up a 600 bed, super-specialty hospital and educational institution providing undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Medicine, Nursing and other allied health services.

The Training Hall of Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA)- State Training & Resource Center (STRC) for Nagaland & Manipur was inaugurated by Mr Menukhol John, Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Nagaland on the 8th of June, 2010 at CIHSR.The new training residential facility is spread over three floors & has two spacious training halls & 54 bedded well furnished accommodations for out- station participants.

A new Integrated Urban Health Clinic was inaugurated on the 3rd June 2010 by Sri. S.I Jamir, the Honorable MLA at the Zeliangrong village, Dhobinala in the heart of Dimapur township. The Clinic is one of the few such Clinic set up as a joint venture of the Christian Institute of Health  Sciences and Research (CIHSR), 4th Mile, Dimapur and the NGOs working in the field of health in the district. The function was attended by representatives of NGOs, the District health officials, and the local leaders beside a host of others.

International Nurses’ Day was celebrated at the CIHSR Chapel on the theme “Delivering Quality, Serving Communities, Nurses’ leading chronic care” on 12th May, 2010.Ms Cecilia Katasi, staff Nurse of CIHSR gave an introduction of the theme. With Mrs Arikha  Samal leading the programme it was Mr David Chandran who gave the Invocation prayer &  Dr Varghese Philip, Director, CIHSR who delivered the message. On the occasion, two special numbers were presented by the staff Nurses of CIHSR. The programme ended with a closing prayer  given by Prof Abraham Joseph.
