Inauguration of the Integrated Urban Health Clinic, Dhobinala, Dimapur on June 3, 2010 PDF Print E-mail

 

A new Integrated Urban Health Clinic was inaugurated on the 3rd June 2010 by Sri. S.I Jamir, the Honorable MLA at the Zeliangrong village, Dhobinala in the heart of Dimapur township. The Clinic is one of the few such Clinic set up as a joint venture of the Christian Institute of Health  Sciences and Research (CIHSR), 4th Mile, Dimapur and the NGOs working in the field of health in the district. The function was attended by representatives of NGOs, the District health officials, and the local leaders beside a host of others.

Speaking as Chief Guest at the function, Sri. Jamir expressed his appreciation for the joint effort of CIHSR and the NGOs to give service to the community for not just a single target disease as most NGOs are on contract to do so, but for all diseases. He encouraged the villagers to avail the services being extended to them.

Rev. Loli Kape, President, Dimapur Pastors Fellowship said the dedicatory prayer before the Chief Guest opened the Centre.

Earlier Dr. Viu Meru, Community Health Consultant of CIHSR explained the purpose of the Integrated Health Clinic saying it is a win-win-win situation for the Community being served, the NGOs and the CIHSR. Mr. David Chandran, Associate Director, CIHSR expressed his delight on the development on behalf of the CIHSR and reasserted the Institute’s commitment to serve the poor and needy; Miss Alemla Longkumer, Program Manager, CAD Foundation spoke on behalf of the NGOs. She pointed out the centrality of location of the Clinic, which is convenient for the whole town of Dimapur.

Dr. Ritu Thurr, the Deputy CMO of the district assures all possible assistance from the government of Nagaland and asked the community to have the sense of ownership for the facilities set up for their welfare.
