An Entry Permit is necessary for Nagaland. Domestic tourists require an Inner Line Permit. Overseas tourists should acquire a Restricted Area Permit prior to entering Nagaland.

Permits are issued by the following authorities:
  • Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi
  • FRRO, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai
  • Commissioner, Home Affairs, Govt. of Nagaland, Kohima
  • All Indian Missions abroad

Kohima, the State’s capital city has many places to visit. For example - World War II Memorial, State Museum, the Catholic Cathedral (second largest in N.E. India), the Hornbill festival (first week of December) in Kisama village, trekking & camping in Dzükou Valley to name some few.Warm clothes is a must before setting out on a journey to Kohima.
